Tangent 7

The seventh development in my Tangent series. Normally the prints start as a series of geometric doodles with a compass, working out different ways to divide a set shape. Areas of these doodles are then blacked out and used as the positives for screen prints. However for this Tangent I decided to do the entire print using the underside of wooden letterpress blocks and cast lead monotype ornaments. By placing the locked up design in a specific place on the print bed and cutting the paper down to an square I was able to print 3 different layers of colour, rotating the paper each time, to create many different colours and overlapping textures from the same composition.
